The Golden Isles Track Club (GITC) is located in the beautiful Golden Isles of Georgia - St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island, and Brunswick. We are a local non-profit organization created to promote fun in fitness. Dedicated to the idea that exercise can be fun for young and the young at heart alike, walkers, joggers, runners and cyclists all comprise GITC's membership. We welcome everyone of all levels and speed and invite you to be a member. |

4th Of July Sunshine Festival Friday, 4th of July, 7:30 a.m., Mallery Park (near the pier.) Don't miss this great 5K run through some beautiful island neighborhoods.
GITC Donates to Community GITC made two donations to the community recently. Pictured below is Club president Greg Carver (2nd from right) is shown donating $1,000 to the Boys and Girl's Club, the proceeds from the 2008 Sidney Lanier Bridge Run.
The club also donated funds to purchase running shoes for the Jane Macon Middle School Track team and received the following thank you from their coach:
"I would like to thank your club for the track shoes purchased for GMS. These kids work hard and appreciate your generosity. Again thank you and hope to see some of you at the track to support these athletes."
Coach Collier and Track Team River Run! Congratulations to all GITC'ers who survived the 2008 River Run's gusty winds. The following was gleamed manually from the results page. Please let me know if I missed you. Fastest of the club was Bud Badyna, who ran a great 1:04:45 (6:57 pace) and finished 343rd overall. Caroline Geiken finished 5th in her Age Group with a 1:12:31 (7:47 pace), 998 overall. Beatriz Zimmer, 1:21:42 8:46
