the GITC by-laws
• Website. Mike T. is now posting/updating the website on a regular basis. He is
adding a race calendar and a photo section.
– We need to go to Godaddy.com to switch over the costs of web hosting to the
club.
– Each month the business meeting minutes and treasurer’s report will be posted
to the site
• Follow up to Sidney Lanier Bridge Run
– Greg and Joe are meeting with Susan Baites this week to go over “lessons
learned”
• Blessing of the Fleet April 12, 2008
– Lea is sending out a volunteer sign-up sheet
• Art Association Run

the race
– Greg is contacting the Art Association to discuss details, routes and GITC
level of involvement
New Business
• 4th of July Race
– Need to start seeking sponsors
– Karen passed out GITC formal letter for sponsors and extra blank letterhead
– Barbara is the co-chair and is working on a sponsorship with Outback
– Greg asked about the cost of having a higher-quality t-shirt. Flexor has
catalogs with shirts/prices. Some discussion followed on both the quality of
shirt material and the application of colors and design. More thought needs to
be given to this issue in future meetings.
– Eliminating the 75+ age group, the new age group will be 70+ this year
• Race Chips
– Joe C. is researching race chips and other similar products
– $10,000 to buy the equipment plus rental fees from Champion Chip was one
figure thrown out to illustrate an order-of-magnitude cost associated with this
method of technology
– In addition to buying chips, a software program would be required and getting
individuals trained on the method of operation
• Wind Feathers
– Bud introduced the idea of purchasing a GITC Wind Feather, as a means of
advertising/highlighting the GITC, for all of our events. He is looking into
more information on the subject.
